| GLOSSARY Acid-suppressing
agents are drugs that reduce
the symptoms of acid reflux. These agents can be over-the-counter
(like Tums®, Rolaids®, Zantac®, Pepcid®,) or
prescription (Losec®, ParietTM, Pantoloc®, Prevacid®
and Nexium®). Because some ARVs need acid in the stomach
to be absorbed, reducing stomach acid with these drugs could
lead to lower levels of ARVs in your blood, and contribute to
treatment failure. |
